Abstract: A system for managing a lockup clutch in an off-road truck includes an engine, a transmission and a torque converter coupled between the engine and the transmission. The torque converter has a lockup clutch that when engaged directly couples the engine to the transmission. The system also includes a transmission controller that disengages the lockup clutch responsive to sensing a missed shift in the transmission, and subsequent to sensing a completed shift, sets an engine speed limit corresponding to a gear associated with the completed shift, and reengages the lockup clutch.

Abstract: A filter element may include a first end cap including an end cap barrier including an inner end cap aperture and end cap flow passages configured to provide flow communication between the of interior the filter element and the exterior of the filter element. The filter element may also include a first tubular member having a first end coupled to the first end cap to provide flow communication between the inner end cap aperture and a second end of the first tubular member. The filter element may further include first filter media extending around the first tubular member, an intermediate barrier coupled to a second end of the first tubular member, and second filter media having different filtering characteristics than the first filter media. One of the first filter media and the second filter media may include a coalescing-type media configured to promote separation of a first fluid from a second fluid.

Abstract: A control system for a machine equipped with a ripping tool. The control system includes a first operator input for generating a ripping control signal that initiates an auto-ripping mode. A second operator input is provided for generating a speed select signal for changing the transmission output speed of the machine to a selected transmission output speed. The system further includes a controller with a memory. The controller is linked to the first and second operator inputs. The controller is programmed to receive a ripping control signal from the first operator input and to activate the auto-ripping mode or auto-ripping mode and deactivate the auto-shift mode. The controller is also programmed to receive a speed select signal from the second operator input and to deactivate the auto-ripping mode and adjust the power source to the selected transmission output speed.
