    Abstract: Title compds.[I; R1 = C1-10 alkyl, C1-2 alkoxy - C1-2 alkyl, cyclohexyl group; R2 = C1-4 alkyl; Z = halogen, (CH3)-NCOX1 (X1 = halogen); Y = H, IV , useful as insecticide, were prepd. by reaction of compd. (II) and compd. (III) in the presence of base. Thus, the mixt. of methylene chloride 70 ml, methyl-N-n-butyl urethane 8.5 g, SCl2 8.7g, and triethylamine 7.1 g was stirred for 30 min at 0-5oC, suspended in the petroleum ether and then filtered to give intermediate. The intermediate was added in the methylene chloride 70 ml soln. at 5-10oC and stirred for 12 hr. after dropping pyridine 7g. The reactant was suspended in the benzene, filtered and distilled to give I.

    Abstract: Novel substituted N-3-(3-chloro-5-trifluoromethyl-2-pyridyloxy)-phenyl-N'-benzoylureas of the formula wherein R1 is fluorine, chlorine, bromine or methyl, and R2 is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine or bromine, processes for producing these compounds and compositions containing them for use in combating pests, particularly in combating insects which infest plants and animals. The novel compounds are especially effective against larval stages of insects which damage plants by eating.
