    Abstract: In a sharing session between a presenter and several attendees, the presenter can share any type of document quickly and without substantial prior preparation. The presenter's device identifies an active document-sharing window within the desktop sharing environment, and detects if there is a shared document in the active window. The presenter's device creates a framework for any detected shared document that is transmitted to each of the attendee devices. The framework contains information about the pages in the shared document, such that an attendee device can request a specific page in the shared document. At least the first page of the shared document is rendered to a page image and transmitted to the attendee devices. Upon request from an attendee device, page images of any of the remaining pages may be sent to the attendee device, allowing each attendee to view a different page than the presenter.

    Abstract: Methods and apparatus for automatically zooming content in an active region are provided. Embodiments of the system allow a user of a computing device to share content on a display element with a portable computing device. The portable computing device is configured to display the shared content on its display screen. By doing so, a plurality of factors can be identified to trigger automatic zooming, and a relevance value for determining automatic zooming is determined. Upon determining the relevance value for automatic zooming, the portable computing device can display automatically zoomed region on its screen. The automatically zoomed region can include zoomed content located in an active region, and the rest of the region outside of the active region can be zoomed out or disappeared from the screen.

When an attendee changes their focus, as indicated by minimizing, covering, or otherwise obstructing shared content of an online conference, the conference is monitored for changes. If an event or change is detected in the online conference, the attendee is informed of the event and/or shown the change. In addition or as an alternative to event detection, a thumbnail image of the shared content is created so that the attendee can monitor for changes.

    Abstract: Techniques to enable an attendee device in an online conference session to view display content different from display content displayed on a host device. In one embodiment a method is provided in which display content that is to be shared with at least one attendee device in an online conference session is captured from a host device. An area containing blank space in the display content is identified. The display content is compacted by removing the area containing the blank space from the display content to obtain compacted content. The compacted content is composed to obtain a composed image configured to be shared with the attendee device, and the composed image is thereafter shared with the attendee device.

    Abstract: An attendee device in an online conference session views a shared application window in a full screen mode. The attendee device receives data for content being shared by a host device, including at least one application window at a first resolution. The attendee device receives an input to enter a full screen mode for one of the application windows and determines whether displaying that application window at a second resolution for the full screen mode requires the image data to be magnified. When displaying the application window at the second resolution requires magnified image data, the attendee device requests the magnified image data from the meeting server facilitating the conference session. The meeting server provides the magnified image data to the attendee device, and the attendee device displays the application window in full screen mode using the magnified image data.
