Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel associative thickeners belonging to the category of the HEURs (Hydrophobically modified Ethoxylated URethanes) comprising an associative compound of bicycloheptane type for thickening aqueous compositions, and also to formulations compositions comprising such thickeners and to the final compositions, for example paint, lacquer, varnish or paper coating color formulations.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to new acrylic associative thickening agents which, when polymerized in the presence of particular polyglycerols, ultimately result in an increase of the open time of the paint or of the thick coating in which they are incorporated. By so doing, painters and applicators will have more time to work the paint layers gradually or to correct imperfections such as paint droplets, traces of brushes and filling-knives.
Abstract:
New associative thickening agents belonging to the category of HASEs (Hydrophobically modified Alkali-Soluble Emulsions). These products contain an original associative monomer with a base of alkylcyclohexanol akoxylates. Their thickening power is greater than the HASE associative thickening agents of the prior art containing grafted alkyl phenols. An efficient substitute product is therefore available, which is free of alkyls phenols, matching current market demand.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns new associative thickening agents belonging to the category of HEURs (Hydrophobically modified Ethylene oxide URethane). These products contain an original associative monomer with a base of alkyl cyclohexanol alkoxylates. Their thickening power is equal to or greater than that procured by HEUR associative thickening agents of the prior art containing grafted alkyl phenols. An efficient substitute product is therefore available, which is free of alkyl phenols, matching current market demand.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method for improving the auto-dispersant characteristic in water of a mineral substance. The method includes the steps of dry-grinding, in the presence of a formulation, a mineral substance selected from a dolomite, talc, titanium dioxide, alumina, kaolin and calcium carbonate, wherein the formulation contains a polyglycerol and no glycerol.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a rheology-modifying urethane compound. The compound comprising urethane functions of the invention can be prepared according to a method in several steps which use different compounds comprising isocyanate functions. For the preparation of the urethane compound according to the invention, a monoisocyanate compound, in particular a monoisocyanate compound resulting from the separate condensation of an asymmetric diisocyanate compound with a reactive compound, is reacted with an alkylene glycol compound in the presence of a polyisocyanate compound. The invention also provides coating compositions comprising mineral particles and a urethane compound according to the invention.
Abstract:
Emulsions containing acrylic associative thickening agents which, when polymerized in the presence of particular polyglycerols, have a thickening power which is remarkably stable over time.
