Abstract:
An oral care implement including a handle and a head. The oral care implement may be formed entirely out of a resilient or flexible material. The head may include a base structure and a monolithic cleaning unit. The monolithic cleaning unit may include a block portion extending from a front surface of the base structure and a plurality of protuberances extending from a distal end of the block portion. The block portion may have a greater height than the protuberances. The protuberances may include central protuberances that extend from a distal surface of the block portion and peripheral protuberances that surround the block portion and extend from the front surface of the base structure. The monolithic cleaning unit may include ribs extending between adjacently positioned protuberances. The oral care implement may be suitable for babies.
Abstract:
An oral care kit includes a plurality of oral care implements, each comprising a handle having a head at one end of the handle. The heads have at least one cleaning element projecting outwards from the heads. At least one dispenser is included, separate from the oral care implements. The dispenser contains an amount of the oral care material. At least one package has a first chamber shaped to contain the plurality of oral care implements and a second chamber shaped to contain the dispenser. The second chamber is separate from the first chamber by a separable connector.
Abstract:
A toothbrush having two head sections (14, 16), the sections being normally biased to assume an angle with respect to each other, to thereby define a generally concave bristle tip configuration. The two sections of the head have facing ends joined by a thin bridge section (30) integral with the two heads. In one embodiment, there is one bridge section (30) near the lower surface of the head. In another embodiment, there are two longitudinally spaced bridge sections each near the lower head surface. In a third embodiment, the bridge section is a thin integral connection between facing ends of the two sections. In other embodiments, the two head sections are normally aligned and are also joined by a thin, integral bridge section, with the bristles of the head section most remote from the handle being of uniformly different lengths. The space between the two facing ends is filled with an elastomer, typically Santoprene . The two head sections define an articulated head. In yet another embodiment, the bridge section is omitted.
Abstract:
Described herein is an oral care implement comprising a body having a head portion, a gripping portion, and a neck portion located between the head and gripping portions, a plurality of tooth engaging elements extending from the head portion, the body comprising a first component formed of a first hard plastic having a first ductility; and a second component formed of a second hard plastic having a second ductility that is greater than the first ductility.
Abstract:
An oral care implement is provided. The implement comprises a head having a first surface and a group of non-parallel tooth cleaning elements extending from the first surface of the head. The tooth cleaning elements together define therebetween a conically-shaped cavity. Moreover, the tooth cleaning elements together define a wall around the cavity, the wall having a proximal end adjacent the first surface of the head and a distal end distal from the first surface of the head, the distal end of the wall being defined by distal ends of a plurality of the tooth cleaning elements.
Abstract:
A package (100) of articles, such as oral care implements (200) comprising: a tubular body (109) having a cavity (115), an open top end (167) and a closed bottom end (126). An annular wall (120) divides the cavity into a central cavity (125) and an annular cavity (115) that circumferentially surrounds the central cavity. A plurality of radial walls (130) extend from an outer surface (121) of the annular wall to an inner surface (112) of the tubular body and divide the annular cavity into a plurality of subcavities (135). At least one oral care implement is disposed within each of the subcavities. A cover (170) is coupled to at least one of the tubular body and the annular wall. The cover comprises a central opening (177) that forms a passageway into the central cavity and a dispensing opening (174).
Abstract:
An oral implement and a method of forming an oral care implement. The oral care implement may include a head having a front surface and a plurality of tooth cleaning elements extending from the front surface. In one embodiment, the plurality of tooth cleaning elements may include three different types of tooth cleaning elements, each type of tooth cleaning element being formed of a different material. In one embodiment each of the materials has a different hardness and thus the oral care implement includes three different types of tooth cleaning elements each having a different hardness. In another embodiment, the oral care implement may include bristles and a molded cleaning element that may function as an interdental cleaner. Such a molded cleaning element may include a body and tines extending therefrom.
Abstract:
An oral care implement having a grip component. In one embodiment, the invention can be an oral care implement comprising: an elongated body comprising a head portion and a handle portion, the handle portion comprising a socket; at least one tooth cleaning element mounted to the head portion of the elongated body; and a first grip component comprising: an annular rim defining a central opening, the annular rim formed of a rigid material; and a resilient body mounted to the annular rim that covers the central opening, the resilient body formed of a resilient material; the first grip component mounted within the socket.
Abstract:
An oral care implement is provided. The implement comprises: a head having a surface from which a cleaning element extends, the cleaning element having a distal end furthest from the surface of the head; and a handle connected to the head, the handle comprising a grip structure forming at least a portion of an exterior surface of the handle; wherein the grip structure is rotatable relative to the head about an axis that passes through the cleaning element at a point on the cleaning element between the surface of the head and the distal end of the cleaning element.
Abstract:
A package (1000) of oral care implements (100) comprising: a tubular body (1001) having an annular wall (1002) forming a cavity (1005), a plurality of inner walls (1010) in the cavity that divide the cavity into a plurality of subcavities (1006), a floor (1007) sealing a bottom end (1009) of each of the subcavities, and a roof (1003) sealing a top end of each of the subcavities; at least one oral care implement disposed within each of the subcavities; a plurality of slots (1030) in the annular wall, wherein each slot forms a passageway into one of the subcavities through which one of the oral care implements can be retrieved; a film (1020) sealing the slots, the film configured so that a portion of the film can be manipulated to provide access into one of the plurality of subcavities while the other subcavities remain sealed.
