Abstract:
An elastic sheath-like device (1) in the shape of a contraceptive or urinary condom or a bandaging product is attached to an applicator (3) comprising a proportionately stiff, thin-walled ring-shaped member (8) with a short axial length. A preferably up-rolled part (7) of the sheath-like device (1) is placed in a groove (6), which is shaped with one end of the ring-shaped member (8) between an edge (9) of a ring-shaped external wall (10) and an outwardly turned bead (11) at the upper edge of an internal wall section (12). To press out the part (7) of the sheath-like device (1) placed in the groove (6) serves a part (14) of the external wall (10) between principally axial slots (15, 16) together with a member (17) under the uprolled part (7) in the groove (6) and a pivoting ejector member (13). The diameter of the ring-shaped member (8) is exactly so much larger than the diameter of the sheath-like device in unextended condition, that a wall section (33) of the sheath-like device (1) is outstretched like a membrane in an essentially normal plane to the ring-shaped member (8) for the purpose of applying an adhesive substance (34) on said wall section (33) after fitting the sheath-like device (1) in the applicator (3). Furthermore the invention concerns a process for manufacturing a combination of the elastic sheath-like device (1) and the applicator (3).
Abstract:
A hose clamp (8) to be positioned on an outlet hose member (7) from a liquid collection bag (1), e.g. a urine collection bag, is provided with two hingedly connected clamp parts (9, 10), one of which (10) has a U-shaped cross-section and lateral portions (13, 14), including longitudinal slots (15) to receive the bottom portion (4) of the bag (1). When mounted, the clamp (8) is pushed onto the bottom portion (4) of the bag (1) so that only a small part of the clamp (8) extends outside the bag. Thereby, the inconveniences to the user are diminished to the largest extent and an improved security against unintentional opening is obtained.
Abstract:
For an external catheter (2) for a male urinary incontinence equipment comprising a soft elastic thin-walled, substantially cylindrical body portion which is open at one end and at the other end merges into a narrowed drainage tube portion (5) for connection with a collection bag and is delivered to the user with the body portion rolled up from the open end towards the drainage tube portion, the arrangement on the penis is facilitated by means of an applicator having an annular or tubular element (1) of a resilient thin-walled material having a greater rigidity than the catheter (2). The element (1) is designed for arrangement outside the catheter (2) so as to surround the catheter from the drainage tube portion (5) thereof through an axial length corresponding substantially to the length of the penis glans. The rolled-up portion of the catheter (2) in the supply condition is retained at one end of the applicator. In extension of the annular or tubular element (1) the applicator has a closed narrowed tube portion (4) for accommodating and protecting the drainage tube portion (5) of the catheter.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device (1) for irrigation of externally debouching, natural or artificial body canals of animals or human beings. The device comprises a catheter (2), and optionally a container (3) designed for containing irrigation medium (4) and a tube member (5) connecting the catheter (2) with the container (3). The catheter is provided with a fixation member (6) for fixation of the catheter inside the body canal and for providing a liquid tight seal between the catheter (2) and the body canal, which fixation member (6) automatically fixates and seals around the catheter (2) when placed in the body canal. The invention further relates to a method of producing the device. Finally the invention relates to the use of the device (1) for performing irrigation on a person.
Abstract:
A dressing (1) comprising a main part (2) and a handle part. The main part (2) comprising an adhesive layer (13), a release liner (14) and a carrier layer (12) optionally covered by a protective layer (11). The handle part comprises at least one tab member (3, 4), said tab member being designed for use as a "non touch" grip for applying the dressing (1) to the skin without touching the adhesive surface of the main part. The tab member (3, 4) comprises one or more layers (9) and has at least one layer in common with the main part (2) of the dressing. Further, the length of an intermediate zone between the handle part and the main part is less than 20 % of the length of the periphery of the main part. Still further, the handle part (3, 4) may be provided with at least one additional layer (15). Finally, there may be provided at least one notch (5, 6) in an intermediate zone (7, 8) between the handle part (3, 4) and the main part (2) of the dressing (1) in order to facilitate removal of the tab member during or after applying the dressing.
Abstract:
A tab member (25), especially for use as a "non-touch" grip for applying a dressing (21) comprising an adhesive layer (23) and optionally a release liner (24) to the skin without touching the adhesive layer (23). The tab member (25) comprises at least a first flap member (26) and a second flap member (27) being joined along one edge thereof so as to form a tab having a V-formed cross section substantially perpendicular to the line of conjunction. The combined thickness of the two flap members (26, 27) in the area of conjunction (28) is smaller than the thickness of a bended edge of the two flap members (26, 27). This is a particular advantage while a decrease of the thickness of the area of conjunciton (28) results in a decrease of the area of the adhesive (23) in front of the area of bending or conjunction (28), which may be subjected to air.
Abstract:
An external urinary catheter for the relief of male urinary incontinence comprises an inner catheter member (1) to be placed under the foreskin (3) in abutment with the head (glans) (4) of penis and an outer holder member (10) for fastening the inner catheter member (1) in the state of use. The outer holder member (10) is a separate member enveloping the discharge spout (2), but may be displaced axially in relation thereto.
Abstract:
