    Abstract: A continuous monobed ion-exchange system contains the treatment chamber A with an upper reserve of regenerated mixed bed a, the treatment zone b and exhausted exchanger zone c, treatment water being periodically introduced at C and halting the downward movement of resin. The exhausted resins are fluidized in compartment B, the separated cation-exchanger transferred to chamber C and anion exchanger to D. Transport liquid is injected at 16, 161, regeneration liquid at 22, 221 and rinsing water at 27, 271. The transport liquid is evacuated at 20 201 and the regeneration and rinsing liquids at 24 241 being mixed for neutralization in chamber 31 before discharge. The regenerated resins are mixed at the top of the bed for further use. Two electrical probes 37 and 38 detect the position of resin exhaustion in the purifying bed A and control this position either by changing the flow of water by pump 40 (as shown) or by adjustment of the flow of exchangers. A similar control of regeneration involves probes 33 and 34 and photo-electric cells 18, 181.
