Abstract: A granular controlled release agrichemical composition having a matrix including an agrichemical active and a coating for providing controlled release of the agrichemical active from the granular composition, wherein the coating has at least one biodegradable polymer selected from the group consisting of aliphatic polyesters, polyanhydrides, polycarbonates, polyurethanes including aliphatic polyester segments, polyureas including aliphatic polyester segments, copolymers of two or more thereof and mixtures thereof wherein the coating composition includes a Lewis acid in an amount sufficient to enhance degradation of the coating.
