Abstract: Holders for wound cables. The holders include retention features to control the rate at which cable windings are unwound during cable deployment. In some examples, the cable holder includes a pair of spaced apart spools and the cable is wound in windings configured as figure-8's. In some examples, the retention features include flexibly resilient fingers positioned to contact the windings at one or more retention points positioned at a deployment end of the holder.

Abstract: A wall box includes an enclosure having a base and a cover connected to the base. The base and the cover enclose an interior region. The wall box further includes a plurality of fiber optic adapters mounted to the enclosure. The fiber optic adapters include an inner port positioned inside the interior region and an outer port positioned at an outer surface of the enclosure. A tray stack is mounted within the interior region. The tray stack includes a tray mount pivotally connected to the enclosure. The tray mount includes a top surface and an oppositely disposed bottom surface. A first splice tray mounting area is disposed on the top surface and a second splice tray mounting area is disposed on the bottom surface. A plurality of trays is disposed in the first splice tray mounting area. A tray is disposed in the second splice tray mounting area.

Abstract: Installing an optical cable at an installation location includes routing a second end of the optical cable towards the installation location; wrapping the second end of the optical cable around a portion of a cable spool at the installation location; attaching the second end of the optical cable to a connector holder disposed at the cable spool; and turning a crank arm to wind the cable spool, thereby winding slack length of the optical cable around the drum. Some types of crank arms are removable from the cable spool. Other types of crank arms are collapsible relative to the cable spool.

Abstract: Distributed optical tapping architectures include two or more optical tap terminals daisy-chained together. Each optical tap terminal includes an environmentally sealed enclosure; an optical tapping circuit positioned within an interior of the enclosure, the optical tapping circuit including an tap input, a tap pass-through output, and a tap drop output; and hardened interface locations (e.g., de-mateable fiber optic connection locations, cable-pass through glands, etc.) corresponding to the tap input, the tap pass-through output and the tap drop output.

Abstract: A fiber distribution hub includes a module mounting location disposed within the cabinet separate from a termination field. The module mounting location includes a plurality of spaces at which various types of modules can be mounted. For example, splitter modules, connector storage modules, and/or fiber storage modules can be installed at the module mounting location. The modules can be mounted in any order or configuration. Some of the modules may be tethered together before installation at the hub.

Abstract: An indexing system includes an indexing component; a redundant optical path; and a fiber tap arrangement. Multiple indexing components can be daisy-chained together in the indexing system. The redundant optical path is created between any forward port and any rearward port in the network. Multiple redundant optical paths can be created within the network. One or more tap arrangements can be disposed along each redundant optical path. Accordingly, feed signals in a bidirectional indexing environment can be supplied to each drop line along the redundant optical path from either direction without recabling.
