The stub cable is structurally adapted to be advanced through at least a portion of a conduit by distally pushing a distal end of the stub cable from a location that is proximal to a proximal end of the conduit and without applying any pulling force at any location that is distal to the proximal end of the conduit.

Abstract: An optical fiber testing device (300) being plugged into a port at which optical signals including communication and test signals within different wavelength bands being received, comprises an optical connector (304) including a plug body surrounding a ferrule holding an optical fiber (301) and a reflector component (326) carried with the optical connector (304). The reflector component (326) is optically coupled to the rear of the optical fiber and reflects the test signal. A method for testing an optical fiber, comprises removably securing a reusable ruggedized optical fiber testing device to a ruggedized port of an optical fiber terminal to optically couple to an optical fiber under test, transmitting a test signal over the optical fiber under test, and using the reflector component to return the test signal over the optical fiber under test when receiving the test signal.

Abstract: Systems, assemblies and methods for deploying an optical fiber through a duct to a customer premises. A blowable section of the optical fiber is blown through the duct. A non-blowable section of the optical fiber is coupled to a trail end of the duct. The non-blowable section can be terminated with a hardened or ruggedized connector. The optical fiber, including both the blowable and non-blowable sections, can be wound around a spool for easy payout of the blowable section.

Abstract: An indexed cable arrangement can be installed in a re-enterable housing. The optical fibers of the cable are indexed between a first; ruggedized multi-fiber connector and a second multi-fiber connector. The second multi-fiber connector may be non-ruggedized and disposed within the housing (e.g., at an adapter) or ruggedized and disposed external of the housing (e.g., terminating a stub cable). One or more drop lines are terminated by respective non-ruggedized, single-fiber connectors disposed within the housing. In certain examples, drop lines may be split into multiple connectorized single-fiber outputs.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a hardened fiber optic fan-out arrangement including a fan-out housing. A plurality of fiber optic pigtails projects outwardly from the fan-out housing. The fiber optic pigtails have free ends including hardened de-mateable fiber optic connection interfaces. A fiber optic feeder cable also projects outwardly from the fan-out housing. The fiber optic feeder cable is optically coupled to the fiber optic pigtails.
