    Abstract: A modular component for interconnection with another modular component to form a remote unit of a distributed antenna system, the modular component includes: an upstream transport interface to receive downlink signals indicative of downlink radio frequency signals originating from another unit in the DAS; a central signal processor to convert the downlink signals received at the upstream transport interface into the downlink radio frequency signals; a radio frequency amplification section to amplify at least a first portion of the downlink radio frequency signals using at least a first radio frequency amplifier; and a radio frequency filtering section to: filter the at least the first portion of the downlink radio frequency signals using at least a first radio frequency filter and provide the at least the first portion of the downlink radio frequency signals to at least one antenna for transmission to at least one subscriber unit.

    Abstract: Embodiments of repeater systems (such as single-node repeaters and distributed antenna systems) suitable for use with 5G NR base stations are disclosed. The repeater system comprises at least one antenna connector to couple at least one external antenna to the repeater system, and repeater circuitry communicatively coupled to the at least one antenna connector. The repeater system is configured to implement: a predetermined output power specification; a predetermined frequency stability specification; a predetermined out-of-band gain specification; a predetermined unwanted emission specification; a predetermined Error Vector Magnitude specification; a predetermined input intermodulation specification; a predetermined output intermodulation specification; and a predetermined Adjacent Channel Rejection Ratio specification.

    Abstract: A method is provided. The method, comprises: power amplifying, with at least two parallel power amplifiers, at least two pre-distorted signals each corresponding to a unique transmit band, wherein each power amplifier operates in a unique transmit band; and pre-distorting, with a single pre-distortion system, at least two signals in different transmit bands, where the pre-distortion of each of the at least two signals is based upon a portion of a corresponding power amplified, pre-distorted signal, and where the pre-distortion diminishes certain IMD products in the corresponding power amplified, pre-distorted signal.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, an over-the-air millimeter wave repeater for a communications network comprises: a donor unit including a first plurality of modular electronic components and an access point including a second plurality of modular electronic components. The donor unit communicates downlink mmWave spectrum wireless signals received from a base station to the access point and radiates uplink mmWave spectrum wireless signals received from the access point to the base station. The access point radiates the downlink mmWave spectrum wireless signals received from the donor unit into a coverage area, receives the uplink mmWave spectrum wireless signals received from the coverage area, and communicates the uplink mmWave spectrum wireless signals to the donor unit. The first and second plurality of modular electronic components includes at least one of a modular antenna component, a modular signal conditioning component, a modular signal interface component, and a modular controller.
