Abstract: A hair straightener or straightening device is provided that includes a handle (70) adapted to be attached to a housing (50). The housing (50) has a heat transmissive plate (56) surrounded by a cover (60) formed by curved rings (61) and teeth (62), which serve to guide and tension the hair along the heat transmissive plate (56). The transmissive plate (56) is heated by hot air. The air is directed and diverted to heat the transmissive plate (56) to a temperature hot enough to straighten hair.

Abstract: An attachment (10) for a hair dryer includes an upper body (12) for supporting a heat transmissive plate (16) with a comb (18) extending from one side of the heat transmissive plate and a lower body (14) for attachment to an outlet of the hair dryer. The heat transmissive plate is heated by the hot air exiting the hair dryer's outlet. The lower body of the attachment may include a plurality of inner ribs positioned at its internal surface or a plurality of flexible inner segments situated within the inner surface, either of which serves to attach the lower body to the hair dryer outlet. The hair dryer attachment thus provides a simple means for using a hair dryer to dry and straighten one's hair.
