Abstract: The disc brake is associated with flat and truncated surfaces. The combination of a brake with a disc containing two standard pads (10) is applied onto the flat friction surfaces disposed on each side of the disc (1). One or two pistons (6) act in one or two lateral cylinders (5) on an axis parallel to the axis of the rotating elements and mounted in a fixed stirrup (4). This stirrup is equipped with a peripheral cylinder (7) containing a moving piston (8). The piston is arranged to apply onto an oscillating lever (11) pivoting on the stirrup and carrying wear pads (12). The pads act on the truncated friction surfaces (3) forming the internal sides of a trapezoidal sectioned throat provided on the periphery of the disc (1).
