Abstract: Device for the transformation of can bodies or similar tubular sections by hydraulic or electrohydraulic effort resulting in a pattern type stamped design of the walls; by "stamp forming" is meant transformation at will of the tubular section, not only of contour but often giving a gravure-like hammered surface, producing an attractive finish. A feed arrangement is provided to move the tubular workpieces from a storage position, carrying moulds to receive the individual items; each mould cavity is fitted with a telescopic run-in pressure chamber with flexible walls connected to a feed source for periodic intake of a flow medium into the chamber as well as a device to produce an electrical discharge passing through the flow medium in the compression chamber; this assembly is responsible for transformation of the workpiece by mating with the design of the mould cavity; a device for opening the mould and removal of the finished product and periodic removal of the low medium from the compression chamber.
