Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass inspection system for detecting particle and defect inside or on a glass sheet (14) using relatively-low cost optical component which easily is integrated into a compact type device easily-deployable to manufacturing environment.
SOLUTION: This system is installed so that the surface to be inspected (1) may exist on the object side plane of a reflective lens (10). The lens forms an image of a narrow stripe area which is long in tangential direction of lens periphery and short in radial direction, on a line scan camera (18). A line illuminating device (12) is installed so as to illuminate the above stripe area. To conduct inspection, the device is moved towards the glass in a direction perpendicular to major axis of stripe by moving the device on the upper side of the glass or moving the glass with the device fixed. During this movement, image data are collected and combined by the line scan camera to be an image.
