    Abstract: PURPOSE: To make it possible to refract guided and paralleled rays at an angle of several tins degree while the parallelism is maintained by providing the deflector with parallel bands having the refractive index increasing proportionally. CONSTITUTION: Electric conductors C are individually connected and the electrodes E formed in parallel and at equal intervals are adhered to the plane of a plate P. The plane perpendicular to the plane inclusive of the electrodes enables the input of parallel rays LE to guides. Another plane parallel with the plane enables the output of refractive rays LU. The respective conductors C are connected to a voltage source which has the value to enable the generation of the voltage within the crystals of the parallel regions having different refractive indices. The arrangement of the optical paths of the different equiv. lengths forming phase gratings is obtd. The parallel rays LE are fed in the phase grating in the direction parallel with the electrodes and the phase of the optical fronts of parallel rays Lu emitted from the electricaly obtd. slits is controlled and the positive interference in the desired directions is generated. The voltages impressed on the electrodes are controllable by a microprocessor so as to supply the most convenient value which is the function of the necessary reflective angle.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To carry out measurement under an action condition by holding a coating slidably without causing any split as to a coated fiber and applying vibration, which is relative to a tensile prestress, to the coating. CONSTITUTION: Each of clamps 1, 2 is constructed of a main body 11, which is provided with a V-shaped groove 12 leading a coated fiber 3, and a holding plate 13. A dimension of the groove 12 is properly selected, and a coating 10 is held without any split and can be slid in the longitudinal direction to a central part, 9, while a pressing stress can be applied only to the coating 10. On the other hand, an arm 4 is fixed in a fixing plate 8, and an arm 5 can be rotated around a vertical axis. In measurement, the fiber 3 is fixed between the clamps 1, 2, and the arm 5 is rotated by a predetermined angle. Then, the arm 5 is vibrated at a proper frequency and at such an amplitude as causes vibrational deformation in the longitudinal direction inside the fiber 3, and this vibration is given to the clamp 2. Consequently, measurement of the fiber 3 under an acting condition can be carried out.
