Abstract: A method of manufacturing an injection mold includes providing a build plate. A plurality of layers of a material are printed onto the build plate so as to form a near net shape of an injection mold component. The near net shape of the injection mold component defines a first volumetric part cavity. Material is removed from each of the build plate and the plurality of layers so as to form a net shape of the injection mold component. The net shape defines a second volumetric part cavity. The build plate at least partially defines the net shape of the injection mold component.
