Abstract: Methods and systems for real-time visualization of building structures are disclosed. A computing system may calculate physical illumination characteristics for each of a plurality of predefined virtual external building-surface elements layered in simulation at specified surface locations of a virtual three-dimensional (3D) model of a building structure, wherein the virtual 3D model is constructed based on data descriptive of the building structure. Each of the plurality of predefined virtual external building-surface elements may be associated with its calculated illumination characteristics in a database. A spatially-manipulable rendered image of the building structure may displayed on an interactive display in real-time based on the virtual 3D model. On the interactive display device, one or more of the plurality of the predefined virtual external building-surface elements may be rendered in real-time at respectively specified locations on the rendered image. On the interactive display device, illumination of each of the one or more of the plurality of the predefined virtual external building-surface elements may be simulated in real-time based on its associated calculated illumination characteristics, its respectively specified location on the rendered image, and a specification of environmental illumination conditions.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to methods, devices and systems for insulation, e.g., of cavities associated with walls, ceilings, floors and other building structures, with foam insulation. In one aspect, the disclosure provides a method for providing a cavity of a building with an expanded foam insulation. The method includes dispensing an amount of an expanding foam insulation into the cavity, the expanding foam insulation being dispensable and expandable to provide the expanded foam insulation material, the expanding foam insulation material formed from a premix comprising at least one polyol, at least one polyisocyanate, a blowing agent, and an encapsulated catalyst, the encapsulated catalyst comprising a plurality of catalyst capsules, each comprising an amount of catalyst and a capsule shell encapsulating the catalyst, wherein the dispensing is performed to apply a force to the encapsulated catalyst sufficient to break capsules and release catalyst, the released catalyst initiating reaction between the at least one polyol and the at least one isocyanate; and then allowing the dispensed amount of expanding foam insulation to substantially finish expanding after it is dispensed in the cavity, thereby forming the expanded foam insulation in the cavity.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to methods, devices and systems for insulation, e.g., of cavities associated with walls, ceilings, floors and other building structures, with foam insulation. In one aspect, the disclosure provides a method for providing a cavity of a building with a predetermined amount of foam insulation. The method includes actuating a valve to begin dispensing foam insulation into the cavity, the actuation being performed by a user, the actuation by the user fixing a start time and/or a zero volume of a time and/or volume meter; then, dispensing the foam insulation from the insulation dispenser into the cavity as the time and/or volume meter counts time and/or volume dispensed; then when a predetermined time after the start time elapses or a predetermined volume of the foam insulation beyond the zero volume is dispensed as measured by the time and/or volume meter, actuating the valve to stop dispensing the foam insulation into the cavity.
