Abstract: Provided are roofing membranes comprising pressure-sensitive adhesives particularly adapted for use at cold temperature, and methods for using same. In one aspect, the disclosure provides a roofing membrane comprising: a bituminous sheet having a lower bituminous surface and an upper bituminous surface; and a non-bituminous cold-temperature pressure-sensitive adhesive disposed on the lower bituminous surface, the upper bituminous surface, or both, wherein the cold-temperature pressure-sensitive adhesive has an average adhesion of at least 10 lbs/ft (146 N/m) at 2° C. as measured by a two hour T-peel test.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to roofing products, for example, shingles suitable for covering and protecting the roofs of houses, buildings, and other structures. The present disclosure relates more particularly to a roofing shingle including an upper edge, a lower edge, a first end, a second end, a headlap section, and an exposed section. A nail zone extends across the roofing shingle from the first end to the second end within the headlap section. The roofing shingle includes a top shingle layer including a top surface and a bottom surface. A reinforcement strip is secured to the bottom surface of the top shingle layer and overlaps with the nail zone. Further, a self-sealing material is disposed within the nail zone and is configured to form a seal around a mechanical fastener that punctures the roofing shingle in order to secure the roofing shingle to an underlying roof structure.

Abstract: Provided are photo-curable foam-forming compositions, methods of making and using them, and a dispenser for injecting the foam-forming composition for the insulation of buildings. In one aspect, the present disclosure provides for a method of insulating a surface, such as that of a building cavity with an insulating foam, the method comprising: irradiating a foam-forming composition with light, the foam-forming composition comprising: a polymerizable component (e.g., based on epoxy or acrylate); an effective amount of a photoinitiator; and a blowing agent; and injecting the irradiated foam-forming composition adjacent the surface.
