    Abstract: A sliding member includes a resin overlay layer on a sliding surface side coming into sliding contact with a mating member. The resin overlay layer has a surface roughness parameter Rk satisfying 0.4≤Rk≤1.2, and a surface area ratio S=S2/S1 calculated when an area of an arbitrary measurement field of view is designated by S1 and a surface area of the measurement field of view is designated by S2 satisfies 2.5≤S≤4.5.

    Abstract: A bearing member according to an embodiment of the present invention is formed into a single cylindrical shape or a cylindrical shape divided into arcs along a circumferential direction, and is assembled to a housing on an outer peripheral side of the bearing member. The bearing member includes an outer peripheral surface provided on a side opposed to an inner peripheral surface of the housing. A maximum height Rz (μm) of a surface roughness of the outer peripheral surface is set as 2.00 μm≤Rz≤4.00 μm, and a value of ratio between an average protruding-peak height Rpk (μm) and a load length rate Mr1 (%), that is a load curve parameter for the surface roughness is set as 0.010≤Rpk/Mr1≤0.100.

    Abstract: A resin coating layer has a shape line that indicates the shape of a surface and is divided by virtual straight lines parallel to the X axis and setting an area of recessed sections that protrudes below the virtual straight lines and an area of protruding sections that protrudes above the virtual straight lines. A virtual straight line at a position at which the area totals for the area of recessed sections and the area of protruding sections are equal is defined as the average line for unevenness. Areas that protrude downwards from this average line for unevenness are defined as recessed sections and areas that protrude above this average line for unevenness are defined as protruding sections. The average area Sa for one recessed section is 4-120 μm2 and the number M of recessed sections between two points having a distance of 1 mm therebetween is 3-20.

    Abstract: A sliding member of the present embodiment includes a bearing alloy layer and a coating layer provided on a sliding surface side thereof. The coating layer has a resin binder with sulfide particles dispersed therein. A covering portion is provided over specific particles and is made of metal oxide comprising the same metal element as a metal element constituting the sulfide particles. When measured by an X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and an X-ray diffraction method, a ratio of a peak height of the metal oxide to a peak height of metal sulfide by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy is from 0.10 to 0.50, and a ratio of the peak height of the metal oxide to the peak height of the metal sulfide by the X-ray diffraction method is 0.10 or less.

    Abstract: A slide member is provided with a metal back, a bearing alloy layer disposed over a first surface of the metal back, and a diamond-like carbon layer disposed at least over a second surface of the metal back, the second surface being located on an opposite side of the first surface. The diamond-like carbon layer has a hardness equal to or less than 1000 HV and when subjected to infrared spectroscopy analysis, exhibits absorption wavenumbers of following wavenumbers (1) to (5) originating from different chemical bonding states: wavenumber (1): 2800-3100 cm−1, wavenumber (2): 1500-1800 cm−1, wavenumber (3): 1200-1500 cm−1, wavenumber (4): 3300-3600 cm−1, wavenumber (5): 730-930 cm−1.The relation (P1+P3)/(P1+P2+P3)≧0.50 is satisfied when an integrated value of absorption rate with respect to wavenumbers (1), (2), and (3) is represented as peak area values P1, P2, and P3, respectively.
