Abstract: The invention relates to a process for improving the thickening, in particular gelling, effect of pyrogenically produced silica dispersed in water or organic liquids, in particular adhesives having a predominantly polar character. The improvement in the thixotropic effect is achieved by adding pulverulent type A zeolite to the silica.
