Abstract: PCT No. PCT/EP95/00455 Sec. 371 Date Dec. 12, 1996 Sec. 102(e) Date Dec. 12, 1996 PCT Filed Feb. 9, 1995 PCT Pub. No. WO95/22650 PCT Pub. Date Aug. 24, 1995The present invention relates to a process for coloring polytrimethylene terephthalate fibers by treating the fibers with an aqueous liquor containing at least one dispersing colorant, in the absence of a carrier and the application of pressure. The temperature of the treatment is carried out at or below the boiling point of the liquid, within 20 DEG C. of the boiling point of the liquor. The coloring process begins at a liquor temperature between 20 DEG and 50 DEG C., and the temperature is raised over a period of 20 to 90 minutes. The liquor is then cooled to a temperature between 20 DEG and 50 DEG C., preferably at a rate of cooling of 1 DEG C. per minute, so that at least 95% wt. % of the colorant is absorbed by the fibers, and the dispersing colorant penetrates the fibers to a relative depth of at least 5% with respect to the diameter of the fibers.

Abstract: The direct dosing of aqueous solutions with acrolein as a microbiocide is problematic because of the associated laborious safety measures and the hitherto known use of reaction mixtures from the deacetalisation has proven not to be very economical. … According to the invention, aqueous solutions can be dosed in a simple, safe and economical manner with acrolein at a sufficient concentration level to be active as a biocide by cleaving acrolein acetals in the aqueous phase in the presence of a strongly acid deacetalisation catalyst into acrolein and the alcohol component, continuously removing the resulting acrolein from the deacetalisation mixture and transferring the acrolein into the aqueous solution to be dosed using an inert gas stream or a liquid jet pump with the aqueous solution to be dosed as the jet liquid.

Abstract: A process is disclosed for dyeing polytrimethylene terephthalate fibres (PTMT fibres). The PTMT fibres are treated in an aqueous bath containing at least one dispersion dye at or below the bath boiling temperature. The process is characterised in that the PTMT fibres are dyed without pressure and without carriers. Dyeing starts at a bath temperature between 20 and 50.degree.C, the temperature is brought within 20 to 90 minutes, preferably within 45 minutes, up to the bath boiling temperature or up to a dyeing temperature at the most 20.degree.C lower than the bath boiling temperature, dyeing continues for at least 20 minutes at the dyeing or boiling temperature, preferably for 30 to 90 minutes, and the temperature is then brought down to 20 to 50.degree.C, preferably at a cooling rate of 1.degree.C per minute, so that at least 95% of the dye contained in the bath is absorbed by the PTMT fibres, and the dispersion dye impregnates the fibres at least down to a relative depth equal to 5% of the diameter of the fibres to be dyed.

Abstract: The invention is directed towards the use of isophoronediamine isomer mixtures consisting of more than 40 % preferably more than 50 to 70 %, of the trans- and less than 60 %, preferably less than 50 to 30 %, of the cis-isomer as reactant in polyaddition resins selected from epoxy, polyurethane and polyurea resins. As curing agents in epoxy resins compared with previously known isomer mixtures, the isomer mixtures lead to an extended pot life with simultaneously reduced maximum curing temperature and therefore reduced shrinkage problems. The isomer mixtures are also suitable as amine components with reduced reactivity for the chain extension of polyurethane/polyureas.
