Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous germicidal agent including peracetic acid and performic acid capable of easily adjusting its effect and rapidly acting and high in bacteria-eradicating rate. SOLUTION: In the production, 0.1 to 1.0 mole of formic acid or 0.1 to 1.0 mole equivalent of the aqueous salts of formic acid per 1 kg of the germicidal agent is added as the formic acid source, to an aqueous phase including 20 to 60 wt.% of hydrogen peroxide, and balanced peracetic acid solution including 0.5 to 6 wt.% of peracetic acid, less than 10 wt.% of acetic acid and up to 3 wt.% of mineral acid, and this mixture is permitted to stand for at least 5 minutes to 5 hours before use.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To concentrate, separate and purify aromatic compounds free from the contamination of a solvent or having a yield loss by bringing a solution of aromatic compounds into contact with an acidic zeolite having a specific coefficient of elasticity, absorption-separating the supernatant liquid, and desorbing the absorbed substance. SOLUTION: A solution of aromatic compounds including an aqueous solution and/or an organic solvent is brought into contact with an acidic zeolite (e.g.; DAY, ZSM-5 or ZSM-5 type zeolite treated to remove aluminum or the like) having 28 to 1000 of coefficient of elasticity in one or more times, separating the supernatant liquid including one or more compounds not absorbed or not including an undesirable compound, desorbing the absorbed substance from the adsorbent by utilizing a solvent, to concentrate, separate and purify the aromatic compounds. This method is especially suitable for separation of limonene and carvone.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate a tetrahydropyrimidine presenting in an aqueous solution from a corresponding hydroxy compound. SOLUTION: This method for separating a tetrahydropyrimidine presenting in an aqueous solution from a corresponding hydroxy compound, is provided by bringing the aqueous solution of the above compound into contact with an acidic zeolite having 15-1,000 modulus at 1.0-7.0 pH value, separating a supernatant containing the hydroxy compound preferentially after the completion of an adsorption, and also desorbing the absorbed derivative from the zeolite with an aqueous solution adjusted to have >pH 8.0 and mixed with a basic organic component as necessary. Thereby, a selective method for separating the tetrahydropyrimidine from its aqueous solution effectively is attained.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the salting out of waste water when a Fenton reagent is used and to make the nonspecific consumption of H2O2 as low as possible by treating the waste water with a hydroxyl group forming body such as hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a titanium-containing silicate as a catalyst. SOLUTION: A microporous or mesoporous titanium-containing metallic silicate, preferably titanium silicalite-1 is used as a catalyst in the form of powder at 0.05-100 g/l, preferably 0.5-10 g/l concentration and/or in the form of formings such as granules, extruded bodies or beads. Waste water is treated with a hydroxyl group forming body such as hydrogen peroxide in the presence of the titanium-containing silicate. The treatment is carried out under relatively mild reaction conditions of pH 2-9, preferably 6.0-8.0 and a temperature between the freezing and boiling points, preferably 15-40 deg.C.
