Abstract: The invention relates to a process for after-oxidation of carbon black powder with oxidants which are gaseous or are dispersed in the gas phase. A closed vertical cylinder is provided at its top with a carbon black input opening and a vent duct and at its bottom with feed ducts for oxidant or flushing air. A stirrer shaft runs along its central axis; stirrer arms are fitted to it at intervals over the height of the cylinder and offset with respect to each other, and sweep over the whole cylinder cross section in predominantly horizontal setting.

Abstract: The invention relates to a silane/filler preparation, consisting essentially of from 5 to 70% by weight of at least one silane corresponding to the following formula Xp-CmH2m+1-pSiRn1(OR)3-n, I in which X=a halogen atom, preferably chlorine or bromine, p=1 or 2, m=1 to 5, R1=a C1-C5 alkyl group, C5-C8-cycloalkyl group or a phenyl group, R=a C1-C5-alkyl group, a C5-C8-cycloalkyl group, a phenyl group, a benzyl group or a C1-C5-alkoxy-C1-C5-alkyl group, and n=0, 1 or 2, and-respectively balanced to 100%-from 95 to 30% by weight of at lesat one inorganic filler, preferably carbon black and silicate fillers as, e.g., silica. There is also disclosed a process for the production of the silane/filler preparation and its use in optionally cross-linkable polymeric moulding compositions or vulcanizable or cross-linkable rubber moulding compositions such as sulphur-vulcanizable moulding compositions based on natural rubber and/or synthetic rubber.

Abstract: There is prepared a homogeneous mixture of 95 to 30% carbon black and 5 to 70% resorcinol. The resorcinol preferably either has an average particle size of 0.01 to 0.4 mm or is broken down to that size. The product is employed in rubber mixture to improve the adhesion of rubber vulcanizates to metal, textile fibers, glass fibers, or their structures.
