Abstract: A power striker assembly (10) effects final positioning of a vehicle closure member (16) and includes a fixed frame (36) and a striker member (38) carried on a striker plate (70) for selective engagement of a latch (26) carried on the closure member (16), to displace the closure member (16) from a presented position to a cinched position. Guide means (74, 76, 86, 90) interconnects the frame (36) and striker plate (76) to effect simultaneous translational and rotational displacement of the striker plate (70) between end limits of travel to produce linear displacement of the striker member (38). An actuator (120) selectively displaces the striker plate (70) between its end limits of travel in response to a control signal. Finally, an interlock (178, 186) fixes the striker plate (70) in the cinched position in the absence of the control signal.
