Abstract: A catalyst for production of VCM comprising from about 0.01 to about 6% by weight of a salt of a metal selected from the group consisting of rhodium and platinum, from about 0.01 to about 15 % of a salt of a metal selected from the group consisting of iron and copper, and from about 1.0 to about 25% of a salt of zinc; impregnated on a support selected from the group consisting of alumina, titania, zirconia, silica, and silica alumina; said percentages expressing the metal content of each component as a function of the total weight of the catalyst.
