Abstract: THE INVENTION DESCRIBED HEREIN IS A LUBRICATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING ANTIMONY TRIOXIDE IN A LIQUID CARRIER AND IS ESPECIALLY SUITABLE FOR THE LUBRICATION OF TITANIUMSTEEL AND MONEL-STEEL INTERFACES. ADDITIONALLY, IT HAS BEEN FOUND THAT THE ADDITION OF ANTIMONY TRIOXIDE TO FLUOROSILICONE FLUIDS TENDS TO STABILIZE SUCH FLUIDS AGAINST OXIDATION.

Abstract: 1,254,245. Lubricants DOW CORNING CORP. 26 March, 1970, [21 May, 1969], No. 14674/70. Heading C5F. Greases comprise a fluorocarbon silicone fluid and 10-300% Sb 2 O 3 (based on the fluid). The composition may also contain MoS 2 , WS 2 , WSe 2 , NbSe 2 , NbS 2 , Ca(OH) 2 , ZnP 2 O 7 , Ca 3 (PO 4 ) 2 , CaO, AlPO 4 , PbPO 3 , SiO 2 , and graphite. The fluid may be trifluoropropyl-siloxane and mixtures or copolymers of trifluoropropylmethylsiloxanes and dimethylsiloxanes.
