Abstract:
The invention provides polyolefin blend compositions of polar and/or non-polar polymers, with at least one functionalized polyolefin polymer selected from the group consisting of: amine functionalized, hydroxyl functionalized, imide functionalized, anhydride functionalized, or carboxylic acid functionalized polyolefin polymers. The invention also provides methods for making the functionalized polyolefin polymer. The invention also provides for materials and articles containing at least one component prepared from such compositions.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to compositions comprising an elastomer component and a propylene component, and in which the elastomer component comprises at least one ethylene/α-olefin polymer, optionally containing a diene, and the polypropylene component comprises at least one branched polypropylene. Preferably, the elastomer component has a melt tan delta between about 0.7 and about 8, as measured by parallel plate rheometer at 0.1 rad/sec, 190° C., and 15 percent strain; and the ratio of the melt tan delta of the elastomer component to the melt tan delta of the propylene component is from 0.5 to 4. The invention also provides for method of making such compositions, and to low gloss articles prepared from the same. The inventive compositions are particularly suitable for fabricating thermoformed sheeting with reduced gloss.

Abstract:
Rheology-modified thermoplastic elastomer compositions are prepared by peroxide modification of a melt blend of an ethylene/alpha-olefin polymer or a diene-modified ethylene/alpha-olefin polymer and a high melting polymer such as polypropylene or a propylene/alpha-olefin copolymer. The resulting compositions have an elastomeric phase, a non-elastomeric phase and certain physical properties that exceed those of a like composition that is not rheology-modified. The compositions can be used to make a variety of articles of manufacture via conventional procedures.
Abstract:
Novel composition comprising at least one random ethylene/±-olefin interpolymer having a PRR from -6 to 75 and a density less than, or equal to, 0.93 g/cc, at least one polydiene diol-based polyurethane, and at least one thermoplastic polyurethane provide improved thermoplastic articles. Preferably, the thermoplastic polyurethane is a polyether/polyol-based polyurethane or a polyester/polyol-based polyurethane.
