    Abstract: A navigation system includes a digital-map, a global-positioning-system receiver, and one or more controller-circuits. The digital-map includes a record of global-positioning-system dead-zones. The global-positioning-system receiver indicates a position of a host-vehicle on the digital-map. The one or more controller-circuits are in communication with the global-positioning-system receiver and the digital-map. The one or more controller-circuits are configured to steer the host-vehicle. The one or more controller-circuits determine the position of the host-vehicle relative to the global-positioning-system dead-zone and determining whether a travel-path for the host-vehicle includes a lane-change to a desired-lane. In accordance with the determination by the one or more controller-circuits that the travel-path includes a lane-change and that the host-vehicle is outside of the global-positioning-system dead-zone, the one or more controller-circuits steer the host-vehicle to the desired-lane.

    Abstract: A warning system includes an angle-detector, a curvature-detection-means, an alert-device, and a controller-circuit. The angle-detector indicates a steering-angle of a hand-wheel of a host-vehicle. The curvature-detection-means detects a curvature of a portion of a roadway traveled by the host-vehicle characterized as ahead of the host-vehicle. The alert-device is operable to alert an operator of the host-vehicle of driver-fatigue. The controller-circuit is in communication with the angle-detector, the curvature-detection-means, and the alert-device. The controller-circuit is configured to determine an average-steering-angle, determine an expected-steering-angle based on the curvature detected by the curvature-detection-means, determine a steering-angle-deviation based on the average-steering-angle and the expected-steering-angle, determine whether the steering-angle-deviation is greater than a predetermined deviation-threshold, determine a frequency of the steering-angle-deviation, and activate the alert-device when the frequency of the steering-angle-deviation exceeds a change-threshold.

    Abstract: A lane assignment system includes a digital-map, a ranging-sensor, and one or more controller-circuits. The digital-map indicates a position of a host-vehicle traveling in a travel-lane on a roadway. The ranging sensor detects a lateral-distance to an other-vehicle traveling on the roadway proximate the host-vehicle. The one or more controller-circuits are in communication with the digital-map and the ranging-sensor. The one or more controller-circuits determine a lateral-variation of the lateral-distance, determine whether the lateral-variation is greater than a dynamic-threshold, determine whether a second-lane exists beyond a first-lane based on the digital-map, determine that the other-vehicle is traveling in the first-lane, and operate the host-vehicle in accordance with the other-vehicle traveling in the first-lane.
