Abstract: A hair care appliance including a body having an outer wall and an inner wall, a fluid flow path extending from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet wherein the fluid outlet is at least partially defined by the inner wall, a heater for heating fluid in the fluid flow path and, a thermistor for measuring the temperature of fluid between the heater and the fluid outlet, wherein the thermistor is retained with respect to a housing and the housing forms part of the inner wall. The housing may comprise a base that engages with the inner wall. The housing may further comprise an arm wherein the arm supports the thermistor and extends radially inwards of the inner wall. The housing may comprise two arms and the thermistor is suspended between the two arms. The inner wall may comprise an aperture into which the housing is inserted.

Abstract: A hair care appliance comprising a body having an outer wall, a duct extending within the outer wall, a primary fluid flow path extending between the duct and the outer wall, a flow directing plate within the primary fluid flow path and at least two guide surfaces located on the flow directing plate wherein the at least two guide surfaces meet at an apex. The body may have a first end, a second end and a longitudinal axis extending from the first end to the second end, wherein the fluid flow path extends along the longitudinal axis. The flow directing plate may be generally orthogonal to the longitudinal axis. The at least two guide surfaces may extend along the longitudinal axis towards the apex. Within the body the primary fluid flow path may be generally annular.

Abstract: A hairdryer including an ionising system and a heater wherein the ionising system comprises an ion producing electrode and the ion producing electrode extends along an external periphery of the heater. The ion producing electrode may extend along the heater to a downstream end of the heater. The ion producing electrode may extend along the heater from an upstream end of the heater. The heater may be generally cylindrical and the ion producing electrode extends along a radially outer surface of the heater. The ion producing electrode may have a first part which extends along a first axis and the first part extends along the external periphery of the heater. The ion producing electrode may have a second part, which extends along a second axis, wherein the second part extends radially inwards from the external periphery of the heater.

Abstract: A hairdryer including a heater, a fluid flow path and a thermal fuse wherein the fluid flow path extends from a fluid inlet to a fluid outlet, the heater extends within the fluid flow path from an upstream end of the heater to a downstream end of the heater and the thermal fuse extends across the downstream end of the heater. The heater may be generally cylindrical in shape and the thermal fuse may extend at least partially radially across the downstream end of the heater. The heater may be annular in cross-section and the thermal fuse may extend at least partially radially across the annular downstream end of the heater. The heater may comprise an element, a scaffold around which the element is wound and an outer wall wherein the outer wall extends about the element and the scaffold.
