SOLUTION: The flexible container for dispensing the ready-to-use pesticide composition utilizes a flexible package 18 filled with a semi-solid flowable ready-to-use pesticide composition 12 which may be manually gripped, oriented proximate a pesticide application area, and squeezed to controllably dispense the ready-to-use pesticide composition through an opening or dispensing port 30 in the flexible package18. Dispensing of the pesticide composition 12 may be performed by a single hand with controlled and discrete product placement, thereby permitting pesticide composition to be applied in difficult to reach areas such as dark and cramped cracks and crevices.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a bait station comprising a base, a reservoir, a cover, and a latch. The base may be used in two different orientations and includes a first section and a second section. The first section has climbing assisting members and a cavity with a reservoir receiving area, and the second section has side climbing assisting members. The climbing assisting members and side climbing assisting members of the base provide a textured surface that enables insects to crawl into and out of the bait station more easily. The reservoir contains poisonous bait and may be placed in two different positions within the reservoir receiving area to accommodate the two different orientations in which the base may be used. The reservoir includes tapered sides with climbing assisting members. The climbing assisting members provide a textured surface that enables insects to crawl into and out of the reservoir more easily. The reservoir also includes an aperture proximate a corner of the reservoir, which provides an entrance into and out of the reservoir and reduces the rate of evaporation of the poisonous bait. The tapered sides of the reservoir also reduce the rate of evaporation of liquid bait because as the volume of the bait decreases, the surface area of the bait exposed to air flowing in and out of the reservoir is also decreased. Finally, the cover is configured and arranged to fit over the base, and the latch secures the cover to the base.

Abstract: A process for preparing an insecticidal composition comprises: a) dissolving a water sensitive insecticide in a specified amount of water; b) combining the resultant insecticide solution with a bait base comprising a mixture of feeding stimulants and optionally one or more gelling agents; c) agitating the resulting combination until thoroughly mixed and if desired d) allowing the mixed combination to form a gel or paste. The water sensitive insecticide is can be either acephate or methamidophos. An insecticidal composition comprises: an effective amount of water sensitive insecticide comprising at least one of acephate or methamidophos; an effective amount of water to dissolve at least a part of the water sensitive insecticide with at least a portion of the water sensitive insecticide is dissolved in the water; an effective amount of at least one of borax or boric acid to lengthen the insecticidal activity of the composition and bait base comprising at least one of an attractant and a feeding stimulant.

Abstract: An insect trap (400) using attractant light, comprising a source of insect attractant light and a housing (404) that can be mounted on a generally planar or flat mounting surface. The housing (404) and the source of light cooperate to form a bidirectional or a multidirectional (overlapping or non-overlapping) pattern of insect attractant light. The housing comprises one, two or more openings for the insect attractant light (401) that is reflected and radiated onto the flat mounting surface. The housing and the source of insect attractant light can cooperate to form a light pattern directed in a continuous display pattern that can surround the housing. The housing openings further facilitate the entry of flying insect pests into the trap. As the insects enter the trap, they are immobilized on an insect immobilization surface mounted within the trap. Cooperation between the direct radiant light, reflected light and the position of the housing and insect immobilization surface forms at least two (preferably non-overlapping) light displays that can substantially increase capture rates when compared to prior traps. The trap can also display a light pattern substantially surrounding the trap housing.
