Abstract: A method and apparatus for automatically neutralizing excess oxidizing agents in a laundry solution on a real-time basis are disclosed. The amount of oxidizing agent present at any instant of time in a laundry solution is measured and compared against a predetermined acceptable level therefor. A neutralizing agent suitable for reducing the oxidizing agent is automatically added to the laundry solution on a demand basis, until the oxidizing agent has been neutralized within the predetermined acceptable level, and without excessive addition of neutralizing agent to the bath or to the textile being processed thereby.
