Abstract: 1355376 Time delay switching circuits ELECTRONICS CORP OF AMERICA 20 July 1971 [3 Aug 1970] 34021/71 Heading H3T [Also in Division F4] Combustion of a burner is initiated by closing contacts 60-2 of a switch 60 to connect a capacitor 62, previously charged through contacts 60-1, to the base of a transistor 72 which actuates a transistor 46 to open a fuel valve 50, thus allowing an ignition attempt. The period allowed for ignition is determined by the discharging of capacitor 62 which switches off transistor 72 to close valve 50 unless successful ignition holds the valve open by means of an ultra violet sensor 20 which switches on a transistor 36 through a transformer 26 when a flame is present, and thus keeps transistor 46 in its conducting state.
