Abstract: The plane rectangular pieces of metal are supplied in quick succession to a pressure point (P) between inner and outer rollers (12,13). Each piece in turn is plastically deformed to a desired constant radius (A) in passing from an entry wedge (11) to an exit guide (33) backed by a latching groove (38) and an arcuate supporting surface (39). The bent piece is then wrapped around the outside (21) of an inner mandrel (20) and elastically deformed (70) to a different shape for ejection. Its trailing end is snapped back (B) into the groove (38) as the next piece arrives at the pressure point.
