Abstract: A valve plate assembly includes an upper valve plate, a lower valve plate, an annular spacer and a center spacer. The annular spacer is located between the upper and lower valve plates and around the outer periphery of the upper and lower valve plates. The center spacer is located at approximately the geometric center of the valve plate assembly to provide additional support for the valve plate assembly.
