    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply remove a mandrel developing a jam and to obtain the saving of time and the reducing of costs by dividing into sections in the jam developing zone in the mandrel of a power type blind rivet tool in the state developing the jam. SOLUTION: The socket portion of a hose coupler member 22 having a conical channel 32 in the inside and connected with a collecting hose at the one end and having the annular shape at the other end, is fitted into an annular space 20. In order to executing the closely sealing connection between a connector member having the channel for receiving a slidable tube 12 and the coupler member 22, an O ring 24 is disposed in the annular groove 26. In the jam state, a force having higher than the friction force of the O ring 24, is generated and solid material is finally separated from the connector member. In this way, vacuum pressure in the tube 12 is lost and the operator of the rivet tool can remove the mandrel from the jam developed zone in the tool with the hand.

    Abstract: A rivet setting tool 10 for setting of blind rivets has a connector-coupler 18,22 arranged between the end of the tool and a collector hose 16. Rivet stems 14 broken from the rivets during rivetting exhaust from the tool to the collector hose but are prone to jam. The connector is screwed into the tool housing. The coupler 22 is affixed to the connector 18 by means of a resilient fastening 24, such as an O-ring, which is arranged to disconnect in the event that a jammed rivet stem is forced back against the coupler. The offending rivet stems can then be removed and the coupler reconnected. The coupler may be curved (40 fig 4) and slidably received in a correspondingly shaped connector.
