Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a blind rivet setting tool of a low cost by providing this tool with a means for driving a motor to move a pulling head assembly in an advancing or parting direction, detecting the load of the motor changing between a minimum load and an intermediate load and stopping the operation. CONSTITUTION: The tool having mandrels for setting blind rivets detects the motor load for driving a pulling head body 38 between a position where the pulling head body is fully advanced and a position where the pulling head body is retracted. If the intermediate load is not detected within a prescribed time when the pulling head 38 moves in a rivet setting direction or if there is a decrease from the intermediate load to the minimum load after the detection of the intermediate load even when the intermediate load is detected, the operation of the motor is reversed. When the pulling head 38 is moved in an opposite direction, the pulling head 38 engages the stop position in the position where the pulling head is fully advanced. The motor is stopped when the intermediate load is detected.
