Abstract: The invention is concerned with a method of downloading software into a radio terminal having at least two pieces of the software, one of which works as the current version. The capability of functioning of the current version of the software in the radio terminal is determined when the terminal is turned on. Another version of the software is downloaded if it is notified that there is a new version or if the current version does not work. If the current version is working, it is stored before a new version is downloaded. The capability of functioning of a current version of the software is tested before use. The result of the test is indicated in such a form that the capability of functioning of said tested version of the software can be determined.
