Abstract:
A wireless telecommunications network supplies a semi-persistent resource that a wireless station can use for special purposes such as a retransmission of packets for ARQ purposes or a control signal. The semi-persistent resource can be allocated by the system to other terminals if, e.g., a retransmission is not required. Since a retransmission is generally performed in response to a NACK received from a base station, the NACK may itself serve as a token that permits the wireless station to use the semi-persistent allocation. Thus, the technology includes, e.g., a method for resource allocation on a semi-persistent basis and efficient signaling for the usage of such allocation.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a method (30) performed in second network node (71, . . . , 7n) of a communication system (1, 1′) adapted for wireless communication and comprising a first network node (31, 32) adapted to operate in a mode of operation according to a first communication standard and a user device (10) adapted to operate according to the first communication standard. The second network node (71, . . . , 7n) is adapted to operate in a mode of operation according to a second communication standard, and adapted to receive uplink signaling in accordance with the first communication standard. The method (30) comprises receiving (31) an access request from the user device (10) in accordance with the first communication standard, and enabling (32) a communication channel for the user device (10) by relaying the received access request to the first network node (31, 32) or by switching from the mode of operation according to the second communication standard, to a mode of operation according to the first communication standard.
Abstract:
A method is described herein for reducing the number of feedback bits needed to send channel state information over a feedback channel from a receiving unit (e.g., mobile terminal, base station) to a transmitter unit (e.g., base station, mobile terminal) in a wireless communication system. In the embodiment, the receiver unit is capable of performing the following steps: (1) receiving a pilot signal from a transmit antenna located at a transmitter unit; (2) analyzing a channel tap associated with the transmit antenna and exploiting the temporal correlations of the channel tap to generate the following (i) a delta-modulated feedback bit indicative of a real part of a complex coefficient of the channel tap associated with the transmit antenna and (ii) a delta-modulated feedback bit indicative of an imaginary part of the complex coefficient of the channel tap associated with the transmit antenna; and (3) sending the two feedback bits over a feedback channel to the transmitter unit which analyzes the two feedback bits, and other feedback bits corresponding to other channel taps of this and other transmit antennas, to optimize the subsequent transmission of data to the receiver unit.
Abstract:
A User Equipment, UE, supporting communication in a multicarrier radio communication system and a method therein for receiving information from a Radio Base Station, RBS, are provided. The method comprises determining 310 a bandwidth by which the UE will receive information, the bandwidth comprising a plurality of sub-carriers. The method also comprises adjusting 320 a bandwidth of the UE to correspond to the determined bandwidth by which the UE will receive information; and fine tuning 330 a local oscillator of the UE such that a centre frequency of a local oscillator does not coincide with a predetermined subcarrier transmitted from the RBS.
