Abstract:
The present invention relates to a solution for handling protocol translation issues in a mixed communication protocol network (220). The solution may be implemented as a node (210), a network, a system, and computer program code. The solution involves a translation function between EPS and GPRS functionality and part of the solution uses a database holding a lookup table for updated and quick response to translation operations.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for adapting the GBR/MBR (Guaranteed Bit Rate/Minimum Bit Rate) for data communication in a radio network (3), where the adaptation is used to comply to the highest capacity available at the radio network (3). The method comprises the steps: providing a predefined GBR to a component (5) in the radio network (3); and calculating an MBR using the GBR as input data, where a predefined algorithm is used for the calculation. The present invention also relates to a radio network comprising a piece of user equipment (2, 10), a radio control device (4, 11) and an SGSN (Switching GPRS Support Node) (5). The radio network (3) is arranged for adapting the GBR/MBR for data communication in the radio network (3) in order to comply to the highest capacity available. The invention also relates to a node which is arranged for calculating an MBR starting with a given GBR.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a solution for handling an evolved allocation and retention priority in a telecommunications network. The solution is based on obtaining an evolved ARP, obtaining an authorized ARP based on the evolved ARP, and transmitting this authorized ARP to nodes in the network. Furthermore, the authorized ARP may be included in information elements involved in mobility procedure messages.
Abstract:
A method for the provision of a defined quality of service in a packet switched communication system with interconnected nodes (N) for the forwarding of data packets is described. The system comprises at least one edge node (EN) for the connection to user equipment (UE) or a further communication system (FS) and for processing data packets. The packets comprise a data field (10) specifying the handling of the packets and the nodes (N) perform a differentiated handling of packets according to said data field (10). The communication system comprises o is connectable to a data base (DB) which contains a record for a user specifying a quality of service. An edge node (EN) which processes a packet for said user is provided with quality parameters from the data base (DB). The edge node (EN) sets the data field (10) specifying the handling of the packet according to the record. Devices and programs to perform the method are also described.
Abstract:
In object of the present invention is solved by means of a method for providing access feedback when a User Equipment (14), UE, with an established a connection over multiple accesses towards a Gateway (10,17,20), GW, initiates a set-up of a new service for a service session. The method comprises a step (22) where the GW (10,17,20) or a Policy and Charging Rules Function (13), PCRF, initiates a Quality of Service, QoS, resource reservation as a response of the set-up of the new service initiated by the UE (14). The GW (10,17,20) or the PCRF (13) in the QoS resource reservation selects a first access as present access. The method is particularly characterized in a step (23) where the UE (14) rejects said first access as present access and sends a reject message to the GW (10,17,20), wherein the GW (10,17,20) or the PCRF (13) as a result of the reject message initiates a new QoS resource reservation selecting a second access as present access.
