Abstract:
A system and method for digitally signing a document including a personal computer which receives the document to be digitally signed. A representation of the document is created from the document and this representation is forwarded to a personal trusted device such as a mobile terminal, personal computer, etc. The user may then view the document on the personal computer and provide a digital signature of the document from the personal trusted device.

A method for obtaining a digital signature is disclosed. Upon receipt of request for a digital signature within a customer computer, a Mobile electronic transaction proxy within the customer PC notifies a web browser of the request for the digital signature and assists in obtaining a digital signature on a data string included within the request. After the digital signature is obtained, the data string along with an appended digital signature is transmitted back to a requesting party.

An electronic transaction is made between a seller and two or more customers by performing an initial transaction between a first customer of the two or more customers and the seller, wherein the initial transaction provides the seller with an identity of the first customer, an amount to be paid by the first customer and identities of a remaining group of the two or more customers. A subsequent transaction is then performed between the seller and each customer identified by the remaining group of the two or more customers. The subsequent transaction provides the seller with information that completes the electronic transaction.

It comprises an intermediate proxy server supporting a first communication protocol for end user station communication and comprising means for providing published certificates, a personal profile data protection server supporting a second communication protocol for communication with the intermediary proxy server and a third communication protocol for communication with a service/information/content provider, and an application programming interface (API) allowing service/information/content provider queries/interactions, and comprising storing means for storing of end user specific data and end user personal profile data. The intermediary proxy server comprises means for verifying the genuinity of a certificate requested over said second communication protocol from the personal profile protection server against a published certificate and the service/information/content server can request, via the API, personal profile data and personal profile data is delivered according to end user preferences or in such a manner that there is no association between the actual end user and the personal profile data of the end user.
