Method in and a network node (160; 110; 401a, 600) for congestion management of a transport network (130) comprised in a wireless communications network (100). The wireless communications network (100) further comprises a base station (110; 401a) configured to receive data being transported via a data transport path (132; 404a,d) of the transport network (130) and to transmit the received data to one or more wireless devices (120) served by the base station (110; 401a). The network node obtains (302; 409; 501) an indicator indicating at least a risk for occurrence of downlink data congestion in the data transport path (132; 404a,d). To reduce said at least risk, the network node then controls (304; 411; 502) the base station (110; 401a) to reduce and/or limit a throughput rate of data being transmitted to the one or more wireless devices (120). The data is received by the base station (110; 401a) via the data transport path (132, 404a,d).
Abstract:
Congestion is detected in a radio access transport network that includes radio network controllers and base stations. Data packet flows associated with mobile radio communications are controlled in the radio access transport network by a corresponding flow control entity. Each flow is monitored for congestion in the transport network. A flow control action is determined in response to the detected congestion. Performance of the flow control action is delayed for a predetermined delay period before the flow control action may be performed. Delaying flow control action after congestion is detected allows other affected flows to detect or be notified of the congestion, thereby making congestion detection more fair.

Embodiments herein relate to a method in a radio network node (500 12 13 13) for informing a network control node (700 14) about a state of a connection between the radio network node (500 12 13 13) and a user equipment (10) served by the radio network node (500 12 13 13). The radio network node transmits to the network control node (700 14) an indication indicating a congestion or not a congestion of MAC hs or MAC ehs packets towards the user equipment (10).

Un método, en un primer nodo, para manejar uno o más trabajos, en el que dicho primer nodo recibe un trabajo a través de un enlace entrante, cuyo trabajo comprende un valor de trabajo, en el que dicho método comprende los pasos de determinar, por dicho primer nodo, una desviación de un retraso de espera del primer nodo de comunicación a partir de un valor de retraso de espera objetivo, y usando, por dicho primer nodo, dicha desviación como un valor de error para determinar una probabilidad de caída que se usa para determinar un valor umbral, en el que dicho valor umbral corresponde a o está asociado con un nivel de congestión de una cola del trabajo, comparando, por dicho primer nodo, el valor del trabajo con el valor umbral y estableciendo que dicho valor del trabajo está por debajo de dicho valor umbral, cayendo, por dicho primer nodo, dicho trabajo basado en dicha comparación.
Abstract:
It is presented a method performed in a first radio base station, RBS, in communication with a radio network controller, RNC. The RNC is configured for multi-flow HSDPA, High-Speed Downlink Packet Access, operation and packet data units, PDUs, are communicated toward a user equipment, UE, node via the first RBS and at least one second RBS. The method comprises: detecting PDU drop events and/or loss events; and communicating information from the RBS to the RNC, notifying of each detected PDU drop event and/or loss event. A corresponding RBS and RNC are also presented.
