Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of a contingent accident by providing a hinge with a part penetrating a hinge element and providing a thread cutting end with a transverse shoulder part adapted to be held in an axial line direction by means of the joint shaft of a screw. CONSTITUTION: The smooth part 18 of the screw 13 for connection has the small-diameter part 29 which has an axial height H above the thickness of at least a second hinge element 14B, more strictly speaking the thickness E of its joint shaft 16 perpendicularly to the second hinge element 14B to be freely crossed by this smooth part and more strictly speaking perpendicularly to the joint shaft 15 in a radial direction and an annular form in a retraced state and has the transverse shoulder part 30 alongside the thread cutting part 19 of the screw 13 for connection. Then, the joint shaft 16 of the second hinge element 14B engages between the shoulder parts 30 and 31 of the screw 13 for connection. Consequently, the shoulder part 30 of the screw engages with this joint shaft 16 thereunder. As a result, the casual slack of the screw 13 for connection is prevented and the occurrence of the contingent accident is overcome.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an advantageous combination in which the holding of a rim or a peripheral frame and a lens is appropriate by giving large thickness in the center part of the outline of the rim or the peripheral frame. CONSTITUTION: The center part 18 of the outline of the rim or the peripheral frame 10 has large thickness E2 in the center area. Namely, the center part 18 has thickness E2 larger than the thickness E3 of the end of the center part connected to side flanges 19. The section of the inner side S1 of the center part 18 on the outline of the rim or the peripheral frame 10 has a projecting form. The inner face of the center part 18 is round and it is engaged with the inner face of the side flanges 19. The center part 18 is positioned between the side flanges 19 through a part having a large curvature radius. The cross section of a strip 22 has a T-shape outline and it has side arms 26 arranged between the side flanges 19 of the outline of the rim or the peripheral frame 10 and a center web 28 received in a groove 29 provided at the edge 22 of the lens 14.
