Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calibration template periodically repeatable particularly in the case of changing or truing a grinding wheel by forming the calibration template in disk shape with its circular contour forming two localized angular points circumscribed by a common circumference and having a relative angular offset. SOLUTION: A calibration template 20 designed to be fitted to a grinding machine to be calibrated instead of an ophthalmic lens is in the general form of a disk. The contour 22 of the calibration template 20 is circular at least part of its perimeter but forms two localized angular points 23 circumscribed by a common circumference C and having a relative angular offset, and at least two separate parts 24', 24" of a circular part 22A of the contour 22 form bevels 25', 25" respectively with edge parts cut off by a cylindrical plane. The bevels 25', 25" to be formed at the edge part of the ophthalmic lens can therefore be accurately positioned on the edge part.
