Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for authenticating a user for access to restricted content. An exemplary method involves providing a plurality of selectable regions on a display, authenticating the user based at least in part on a user input that corresponds to a selectable region that includes a portion of authentication information, and providing the restricted content to the display after authenticating the user. Each selectable input region of the plurality of selectable regions includes a plurality of characters. In exemplary embodiments, the characters of one or more selectable input regions are randomized.
Abstract:
Various embodiments provide a dual use remote-control device. In one embodiment, a dual use remote-control device may include a first set of input controls such as buttons positioned on a top side of the housing, a second set of input controls positioned on a bottom side of the housing including a QWERTY keyboard and an optical sensor to remotely control movement of a cursor on a display by the optical sensor detecting movement of a user's finger across the optical sensor or movement of the optical sensor across an object such as a table, arm of a chair or user's lap. This abstract is provided to comply with rules requiring an abstract, and it is submitted with the intention that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.
Abstract:
A method for programming a control device. The method for programming the control device may include using a graphical programming interface. The graphical programming interface may direct a user through the programming process with text and graphics. The graphical programming interface may provide a control device image that corresponds to the physical control device that is being programmed. The graphical programming interface may graphically verify to a user whether a button was successfully programmed. Additionally, the graphical programming interface may illustrate the correct positioning of one control device to another control device while programming.
