Abstract: Disclosed are a data transmission and reception method and a machine type communication (MTC) device using the same. The data transmission and reception method according to the present invention may include: extracting MTC bandwidth information through a downlink channel or signaling; receiving the downlink channel or signaling including MTC downlink control format information; detecting resource region information occupied by the MTC downlink control channel; and receiving the MTC downlink control channel using the resource region information occupied by the MTC downlink control channel.
