Abstract:
An apparatus and method for filtering a dirty air stream in a vacuum cleaner to obtain a clean air stream comprises subjecting the dirty air stream to a first cyclonic separation stage (32) to obtain a partially cleaned air sream and subjecting the partially cleaned air stream to an electronic filtration stage (50) and optionally a second cyclonic separation stage (60) to obtain the clean air stream. The electronic filtration stage (50) is optionally removable with a cyclonic cleaning stage from the vacuum cleaner. The electronic filtration stage (50) is optionally an electrostatic precipitator which utilizes air flow through the vacuum cleaner to generate the voltage used by the electrostatic precipitator.
Abstract:
A residential method for treating water with an ozidizing gas operates under elevated pressure. The elevated pressure is obtained by means of a pressurized oxidizing gas source (e.g. an air pump) or a prandtl layer turbine. The elevated pressure of the treated water is optionally used to dispense the treated water. The prandtl layer turbine may be used to obtain particularly fine bubbles of a gas (e.g. bubbles from about 1 mu to about 20 mu in diameter) in a liquid.

Abstract:
An apparatus comprising a longitudinally extending housing having a fluid inlet port and a fluid outlet port; a plurality of spaced apart members rotatably mounted in the housing to transmit motive force between fluid introduced through the fluid inlet port and the spaced apart members, the spaced apart members having an upstream end and a downstream end; and, at least one fan member positioned in series with the spaced apart members.

An apparatus comprising a longitudinally extending housing having a fluid inlet port; a plurality of spaced apart members rotatably mounted in the housing to transmit motive force between fluid introduced through the fluid inlet port and the members and to separate the fluid into at least two fluid streams; and, a fluid outlet port positioned on the housing for receiving each fluid stream.
Abstract:
A process of separating water from ambient air involves a liquid desiccant to first withdraw water from air and treatment of the liquid desiccant to produce water and regenerated desiccant. Water lean air is released to the atmosphere. Heat generated in the process is recycled. The drying capacity, or volume of water produced, of the system for a given energy input is favored over the production of dried air.
Abstract:
A method for treating a liquid comprising water with a gas comprising ozone comprises introducing the liquid to be treated into a treatment vessel, introducing the gas to treat the liquid into the treatment vessel and treating the liquid in the treatment vessel, pressurizing the treatment vessel and, using the pressure in the treatment vessel to dispense the treated liquid from the treatment vessel through a filter. An apparatus for treating the liquid is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for treating a liquid comprising the steps of introducing a gas to treat the liquid into a sealed vessel; increasing the pressure in the vessel to promote the dissolution of the gas into the liquid; and either releasing the pressure after the pressure in the vessel reaches a predetermined level or monitoring the treatment of the liquid and releasing the pressure after the treatment of the liquid in the vessel reaches a predetermined level. An apparatus for use with this method is also disclosed.
