Abstract: A system (Figure) and method (Figs.4&6) for sharing digital images (21) over a network (11), such as the Internet, wherein the first person (10) desires to send images from a first computer (12) to a second person (34) having a second computer (36) that includes a standard email program (38). The system and method include sending an email request with the images (19) and an address of the second user (Fig.5) from the first computer (12) to a server (20). In response to receiving the email request, the images are stored on the server (28), and the server creates a standard email message (31) from the email request (19). The method and system further include inserting at least one link to the stored images (33) into the email message (31), and transmitting the email message over the network (32) for delivery to the second user (38). The second user may then receive and open the email message on the second computer (36) using the standard email program (38) and click on at least one link to display the images (40).

Abstract: A method for accessing a digital image capture unit via a communication network comprising a server computer system and a client computer system communicatively coupled with communication equipment. In one embodiment, the address of the digital image capture unit is registered in an executable program on the server computer system. The executable program is accessed by the client computer system. The executable program connects the digital image capture unit and the server computer system. Abstract: At least two computer systems in a peer-to-peer network are utilized to support a secure transaction. Aspects of the present invention include allowing a shopper to create an order to purchase one or more digital assets stored on a first computer system in the peer-to-peer network, and after the order is created, passing the order and control from the first computer system to a second computer system in the peer-to-peer network.
