Abstract: An auxiliary stirrer tank for a solvent extraction system includes a tank that receives immiscible liquids for agitating together to facilitate mass transfer of a material and a shaft positioned within the tank that is rotatable within the tank via a drive mechanism. A first set of blades are attached to the shaft at a first location on the shaft. Blades of the first set of blades are spaced apart from one another about a diameter or periphery of the shaft at the first location and extend a first distance outwardly from the shaft. A second set of blades are attached to the shaft at a second location on the shaft. The blades of the second set of blades are spaced apart from one another about a diameter or periphery of the shaft at the second location and extend a second distance outwardly from the shaft.
