Abstract:
A system and method for refurbishing filter plate assemblies of an industrial horizontal filter press is disclosed. The system may comprise multiple stations and the method may comprise one or more process steps associated with each of the stations. A station may ready the plate assemblies, provide for checking the function of spray nozzles, provide for the removal of filter cloths and/or feed eye grommets, or provide for the washing of plates. A final station may be used for final assembly and inspection. A rework station may be provided to hold filter plate assemblies which are not suitable to return to service in the industrial horizontal filter press. Stations may perform single operations, or they may be equipped for performing multiple operations at once, without limitation.
Abstract:
A system and method for tailings disposal is disclosed. A coarse tailings feed stream and a coarse tailings crusher for crushing the coarse tailings feed stream is provided. A crushed coarse tailings stream may be produced by the coarse tailings crusher, and a disposal stream comprising the crushed coarse tailings stream may be discarded as geotechnically stable waste product. The system and method may further provide a fine tailings stream and a thickener configured to thicken/dewater the fine tailings stream and produce a thickener underflow fine tailings stream. The system and method may provide a mixer configured to mix the thickener underflow fine tailings stream and the crushed coarse tailings stream to form a combined tailings disposal stream. Dewatering apparatus may also be provided.

A paste tailings disposal system (1) includes a paste spreader (7) for forming a tailings dam (4) and/or depositing paste tailings to a tailings storage facility (8). The paste spreader includes proximal (27) and distal (28) ends, and a bridge (25) 5 having a tail section (22) adjacent the proximal end (27), an intermediate section, and a head section (24) adjacent the distal end (27). A pipe (26) supported by and extending along the bridge (25) is configured for receiving and conveying the paste tailings to the tailings storage facility (8). A plurality of nozzles (11) extend from the pipe at discrete locations along the pipe (26) and are configured to transfer the0 paste tailings from the pipe (26) to the tailings storage facility (8) at said discrete locations along the pipe (26).

A minerals processing system (200, 300) comprising a flotation circuit (109) is characterized in that a dry grinding circuit precedes the flotation circuit (109). The dry grinding circuit may use a vertical roller mill (32) or roller grinder (302), and at least one dry air particle separation device (201, 304, 307) positioned between said vertical roller mill (32) or roller grinder (302) and the flotation circuit (109). The at least one dry air particle separation device (201, 304, 307) produces a dry fines stream (38) and a dry coarse stream (202). The coarse stream (202) is provided to the flotation circuit (109) to recover metal values, whereas the dry fines stream (38) circumvents the flotation circuit (109) and is combined with dewatered tailings (116) derived from material (110, 111) leaving the flotation circuit (109).
